This is a striking example of a silk ikat summer dress, circa 1930's, Bukhara area, Uzbekistan. This beautiful example was created by dyeing the silk threads before they were placed on a hand loom and woven together. An age old tradition of textile art in Uzbekistan. The natural dyes are vibrant, and the design explosive. The condition of this dress is excellent. Being quite a large size, so it would make a magnificent statement mounted on a wall. The dimensions are 84"cuff to cuff x 48" in length. The condition of this dress is such that it could be worn, or used as a magnificent artistic statement. SOLD
