Wonderful semi-antique young boy's embroidered festival attire, circa 1940, possibly Mochi group, Kutch, India. Hand embroidered in cotton, on a mill-spun cotton ground. The vertical stripes are made of mashru, a blend of cotton and silk, which is collectable in its self. The colors of this dress are stunning in there use and gaiety. An example such as this this were usually worn over white leggings, at time of celebrations and festivals. There is some light staining, otherwise the condition is quite nice for its age. The dimensions are 23"cuff to cuff x 23" length. Price on Request
