Rare and beautiful antique applique and embroidered spread, circa 1930's or before, Pamir Mountains, Afghanistan/Tajikistan border area. Truely a nomadic piece, with great collors and design. A circular central medallion has been placed in the middle, with quartered medallions in each corner of the red field. The colors are contrasted with red, orange, grey-blue, light green, yellow and ivory. The dyes appear to be from natural sources, with no color run or movement. The condition is very nice for its age, with only very slight wear and a few light stains. The dimensions are 81" x 45" (206cm x 114cm). A very rare and interesting example. Price on Request
