Textiles | Antique Uzbek Silk Mafrash Panel

This is a very rare and unusual 'mafrash' panel, circa 1st third 20th century, Uzbekistan. Very fine cross stitch work in silk, with Memling guls and striking borders enclosing the field. The color pallette is very pleasing and unusual, as well as the floral forms in two white ground panels on each end of the field. The condition of this mafrash panel is very nice, with only a few small blemishes; some scattered light ink stains and an area of wear to one side edge. A quite unique and collectable example. SOLD
