An antique 'kurta' or dress, circa 1880 or before, Uzbekistan. This wonderful example displays a rare design in two shades of dark and light indigo blue on a white background. The color and design have a very modern, almost Japanese sensibility. I never seen another quite like it. The warps are silk and the wefts cotton, which are more sought after by collectors and are usually of an earlier age than silk on silk examples. The colors are natural and the condition is good. The dimensions are 73" cuff to cuff x 42"ht. x 38" bottom hem. It is a stunning piece of art for the wall, and can also be worn. A very collectable example with very good age. Price on Request
