A very beautiful gold metal thread and silk embroidered coverlet, circa 1850 or before, Ottoman Empire, Anatolia. Each corner has been splendidly embroidered with floral forms and vines in gold wire thread. The piece is surrounded by a gold wire crocheted border. It has real age and the work is magnificent. Unfortunately, there are some splits to the silk ground do to folding over its long life span. It can however be stablized and conserved. The dimensions are 16" x 16". Price on Request
