Textiles | Antique Lakai Uut Kap Ilgich

A beautiful and rare example of a 'Uut Kap Ilgich', a silk embroidered shield shaped tent decoration, circa 1900 or before, Uzbekistan. Superfine silk chain stitch work on woolen flannel, surrounded by silk overcasting and and embellished with silk tassels. This piece has had a red backing added so it now forms a bag, though I doubt this backing is original, and certainly has age. The condition is god, but it does have a few small moth holes in the red woolen flannel ground. The dimensions are 18.5" x 12" (47cm x 30.5cm). A very nice collectable example. Price on Request
