A rare women's apron, 19th century, Greece. Silk and cotton embroidery on undyed natural dark wool. A very unusual warp wrapping technique has been used to create wonderful talismanic designs. Beautiful natural dyes in yellow, red, light green and brown with touches of white cotton highlights. I have never seen another piece like it. Rare and collectable.
