A beautiful example of silk embroidery work, done by the women of the Memon or Lohana community in the Tharparkar region of Sindh. Early 20th century. This stunning skirt length displays rows of stylied plant forms, repeated flowerheads. and what appear to be architectural representations. Very beautiful work, now becoming a lost art and tradition. For further references see; Rosemary Crill's 'Indian Embroidery' book. Dimensions and price on request.
