The is a wonderful example of silk embroidery from Gujarat, India, dating to the 4th Qt. of the 19th century. Golden yellow silk was used along with mica mirrors, are embroidered onto a ground of deep indigo dyes homespun cotton. All the dyes are from organic sources. This is a rare, stunning example of Gujarati needle work. Such examples are rare and very difficult to find now. SOLD
