Antique "Marash' embroidery, 19th Century, Southern Armenia or Northern Turkey. Produced by ethnic Armenian women. Cotton embroidery on indigo dyed homespun cotton. All dyes are natural with a beautiful sky blue, green, red and ivory, embroidered on a deep indigo blue ground. This wonderful example has been worked in an intricate interlocking stitch technique. The piece is in excellent condition. These embroideries are now very difficult to find and this is a beautiful, rare example. *Colors are a bit washed out in images. SOLD
