This is a beautifully carved jade bird, most likely representing a golden pheasant, circa 2nd half, 19th century, China. The color of the jade is light and creamy and the carving understated. The artist obviously worked with the contours of the jade. The piece has a wonderfully smooth feel and fits into ones palm naturally. It is a worthy jade carving which will only get nicer with handling and age. It measures about 4 1/2" x 2". Price on Request
