This is a delightful jade container, second half 19th century, Western China. It depicts a wonderfully carved resting deer, atop which sits a Fu Dog proctector sitting on it's hind legs. A small lid sits upon the top of the container. It is not clear if the lid is original, as it sits a little loosely. It is really a unique and charmly beautiful piece, with age and presence.
