A beautiful 'chuval' or grain storage/transport bag, circa 1875 or before, Yomut group, Turkmenistan. All natural dyes, silky wool with an attractive rendition of the 'memling gul' design. There are two old repairs and a bit of wear consistant with age. This is a nice example with a design more commonly used in later, soumak embroidered pieces. Good, collectable example.
