Beautiful soumak embroidered end panel from a 'mafrash' or bedding bag, circa 1890's or before, nomadic Shahsavan group, Northwest Persia. This example was created using very nice shiny wool, and a generous use of cotton for the whites. All saturated natural dyes, including a dark and teal green, with a number of shades shades of indigo blue and a soft golden yellow. There are some obvious condition issues, but a nice example which still retains its charm. Price on Request
