A beautiful and unusual small 'khorjin' produced by the Luri group of nomads, late 19th century, Southwest Persia. I haven't seen many small pile khorjins made by this group. Their work is mostly produced in soumak embroidery technique, which was only used on the closures of this example, but not the main body. Wonderful shiny wool and saturated natural dyes give this diminutive gem a vibrant glow. Condition is very good, with the only real wear at the fold on one side. Price on Request
