A beautiful and unusual bagface, circa 1890 or before, Saryk group, Upper Amu Darya region of Turkmenistan. This piece displays an interesting chuval type 'gul'. The abrash running horizontally between the 'guls' has a very nice affect. The drawing of the multiple borders beneath the field is also unusual. There are nice touches of sky blue here and there, and the elem drawing with a madder root ground color is beautiful. The piece is very finely woven. Missing a bit from the top and bottom. Collectable and rare example. Price on Request
