A beautiful antique opened bag, circa 1910, Sanjabi Kurdish group, Northwest Persia. This bag displays a wonderful repeating 'shrub' or floral design, a nicely decorated 'star' lower panel also in pile, and a beautifully executed flat woven back showing bands of weft float brocade. The upper border is drawn with a different design than the other three. This bag is quite colorful, with various shades of red, pink, blue, gold and white. The field has a background of frosty blues. All the closure tabs are intact, and the overcasting on each side appears original. There are some light areas of wear, mostly to the lower field. SOLD
