SOLD: A handsome example of a saddle bag from one of the five tribes of the Khamseh Confederation, Fars Province, Southwest Persia. Serrated leaves surround an eight pointed star medallion, which then encloses a star motif. The ground color of the field is of a deep indigo blue and displays many varying filler motifs. The white main border is zoomorphic in its drawning, with a repeated design of stylized animals, possibly representing dogs or goats. This example is in very nice condition, and retains its flatwoven back. SOLD
