A beautiful bagface from one of the five tribes of the Khamseh Confederation, circa 1890 or before, Fars Province, Southwest Persia. The dyes that have been used are beautifully saturated and of all organic substances. The central field is decorated with a serrated leaf lattice containing hooked devices in their centers, which than terminate in stylized animal heads, some even having eyes. The top and bottom main border is drawn a little differently than the sides. The wool is glossy with a beautiful sheen. There are some condition issues, as can be evidenced in the image. A beautiful and collectable example. Price on Request
