A wonderful example of a Jaf Kurdish saddle bag, circa late 19th century, Northwest Persia. Fabulous wool and very rich natural dyes. Created with very soft, shiny and spongy wool in deep pile. The array of colors are excellent with clear reds, yellow, ivory brown, blues and a wonderful aubergine. The condition is very nice though it could use a good stretch, and a corner is missing from one end of the flatwoven back. There is a small darn or patch on the backing as well. Otherwise, it's in very nice, full pile condition. 47"open x 26". This is a handsome and collectable example. Price on Request.
