This is a very handsome trapping or torba from the Ersari nomadic group of Turkmen, circa 1900, Lower Amu Darya area, Afghanistan. The dimensions are 62" x 14". It has a wonderful architectural design, possibly representing yurts. All dyes are natural with the exception of the background color, probably a synthetic and natural dye mix which has tip faded a bit with time. The piece has also been cut and professionally rejoined (see detail of cut on back). Thus, it is priced accordingly. SOLD
