An unusual flat-woven bag, circa 1900 or before, nomadic Ersari group, Lower Amu Darya, Northern Afghanistan. Soumak embroidery on plain woven ground. Rare use of bleached white cotton. The piece also displays a nice green and pale yellow. The closure loops remain intact along the top, as well as the flat-woven camel colored backing. Some wear and corrosion, but still retains it's charm. Rare piece. Price on Request
