A charming Baotou rug, circa 1920's, China, displaying Buddhist symbolism. This sweet example is drawn with a center roundel containing a large tree, a deer, crane and peony flower. Larger peony decorate the deep indigo field. A sky blue interlocking design is used to frame to field. It appears the pinkish/red is a synthetic color, whereas the other colors are natural. Nice condition and very decorative. Price on Request
