SOLD A nice tent rug from the Salar Khani Baluch group, northeast Khorasan of Persia. Circa 1880 or before. Beautiful natural dyes and glossy wool. The main border drawing is particularly handsome. The design of this rug has certainly been influenced by the neighboring Turkoman tribes as seen by the use of major and minor 'guls'. Wear is evident and it needs a good wash. Older than most of this type. SOLD
