SOLD Antique 'balisht' or grain storage bagface, circa 1900, Herat area, Northwest Afghanistan. This balisht displays a beautiful trunk and willow leaf design on a warm undyed camel wool ground.The elaborate flatwoven end finishes are worked in weft-float brocade and are very nicely done, a sign of good age. This example is in nice condition with no repairs, but has slight wear at the edges and a few creases in the piled corners. The dimensions are 40" x 20"wd.
