A very beautiful 'balisht' or grain storage bagface, also these are sometimes used as a pillow. Circa 1900, Sistan region of Southeast Persia. Most examples using this design are drawn on a ground of undyed camel wool. This particular piece however has background color of a frosty, deep indigo. There is a very beautiful teal-green used as well. All the colors are derived from natural dyes stuffs, and the wool is very glossy and lanolin rich. The condition is excellent with no repairs that I've noticed. A collectable example. Price on Request
