A very beautiful bagface, 4th Qt. of the 19th century, Baluch people, Khorasan Province, Northeast Persia. Probably Turbat-i-Haidari area. Fabulous wool with all natural dyes. Nice touch with the small, white diamond center. Slightly depressed warps. This piece has a bit stiffer handle then the floppy Baluchis due to its construction. I have always loved this field and border design and this example pairs them together well. This is a design more often found in rugs, and a seldom used design for bags. Slight wear, and one patch on the lower left kelim band. The work appears to be from the same weaver and piece. Most likely taken from the opposite end of the original double bag. A very collectable example. Price on Request
