A beautiful saddlebag complete with backing, circa 1880, Afshar tribe, Kerman Province, Southwest Persia. This example was created with lustrous wool and all natural dyestuffs. An allover stylized tree and floral motifs decorate the field. The ground color is deep indigo. The floral border is drawn on an ivory background. The checkerboard closures are intact, as is the brown and ivory overcasting on the sides. The wear to the pile is even throughout. A nice, collectable example. Price on Request
