A very beautiful bagface, circa 1900, nomadic Afshar tribe, Kerman Province, South Persia. This unique example displays a eight-sided 'gul' shaped medallion containing a retangular center with four appendages that terminate in diamond shapes, all drawn with filler motifs. A midnight blue field is surround by a ribbon main border. There is a generous use of either cochineal or lac insect dye throughout, an expensive color for this tribe to obtain. Full pile condition with no restoration. Price on Request
