A very beautiful bag from the Afshar group of nomads, circa 1900 or before, Fars Province, Southwest Persia. This piece displays a center boxed star with a repeating star field and carnation border design. Wonderful glossy wool and saturated natural colors of deep indigo blues and green, various shades of madder red, a corrosive pink which has sculpted itself nicely with time, and undyed ivory and brown wool. All the closures tabs and ties are intact with the red and blue striped backing in perfect condition. Original overcasting on the sides. All is in excellent condition with no repairs. Price on Request
