This beautiful 'three medallion' so called long rug was made in the Shirvan district of Eastern Azerbaijan around 1880 or before. The indigo ground displays three ivory medallions in the center and two red, serrated devices at each end of the field. A beautiful main border is drawn with a clear yellow ground. Also to be noted is the use of cochineal or lac insect dye throughout. Low, even wear. SOLD
