Embroidery India/Pakistan | Vintage Embroidered Dowry Bagface

SOLD* Beautiful vintage cotton embroidered dowry bagface, circa mid 20th century, Lower Sindh, Pakistan. Quite and unusual example worked in some of the same techniques as 'kantha' embroidery from Bengal, which has been layered, pieced and embroidered. The designs are centered around a central solar disc, with quartered discs in each corner of the field. There are also wonderful filler motifs which also decorate the field and enclosed by reciprocal applique and embroidery in red and blue. This example is in excellent condition. The dimensions are 27" x 16.5" (68.5cm x 42cm). SOLD
