Embroidery India/Pakistan | Silk Embroidered Rajasthan Pillow

A beautiful antique pillow cover, circa 1930-40's, Thar Desert region, Rajasthan/Sindh, India. This is quite an old and charming example employing a number of embroidery techniques, such a 'soof' and hurmich as well as running stitch. The embroidery is of silk, metal and cotton threads. The ground material is cotton. The condition is fair, with five old patches in the corners of the field (in darker red), as well as wear and some staining. The piece retains much charm, and is older than most such examples. It has been washed, and is now clean and ready for display or use. The dimensions are 32" x 13.5" (81cm x 34cm). Price on Request
