A beautiful and unusual 'choli', or blouse front, circa 1950, Maheri or Baluch group, Rahim Yar Khan, Sindh Province, South Pakistan. Cotton embroidery on homespun cotton ground. This unique blouse front has been completely embroidered in 'hermitch' stitch, or interlocking stitch. It is the first time I have seen that work exclusively on a 'choli'. Usually, there are a number of other techniques employed as well. It has a very nice affect. The colors seem to be all natural, with the exclusion of one of the greens. Even the backing material is beautiful. Excellent condition. Price on Request
