Embroidery India/Pakistan | Old Bishnoi Woolen Shawl

A very beautiful old woolen shawl/headcover, circa 1940's or before, Bishnoi community, Thar Desert area, Rajasthan, India. The example displays whimsically drawn and sylized camels, human figures, a peacock, geometric motifs as well as florel designs representing the weavers surroundings. The colors are crisp and satrated, and the condition is excellent, showing no holes, stains or defects. It is now quite difficult to find such pristine, collectable examples. The dimensions are 84" x 51" (213cm x 129cm). SOLD
