SOLD A rare and beautiful embroidered stole or shawl, circa 1860 or before, most likely the silk work was done in Kashmir and finished with metral work in the Punjab. Silk embroidery embellished with metallic thread. Beautiful 'boteh' designs placed on pistachio colored pashmina woolen ground. The work is fine and precise and the drawing is simply stunning. There are a few moth nibbles but the piece has been expertly conserved with a matching backing. It is now ready for display or use. The dimensions are 8'4" 1'9". A rare, stunning and collectable example in nice condition. SOLD
