A very fine antique applique and embroidered 'Gadi', 2nd third to mid 20th century, Thar Desert region of Rajasthan, India.This handsome example is quite old, finely executed cotton applique on cotton, and in near mint condition. The colors are stong and clear and the work precise. Most likely made as a food or tray cover. it has been lovingly cared for and lightly used over the years. Even the docorative pom-poms remain intact. The dimensions are 23.5" x 23" (60cm x 58cm). The quality of the rumal has become very difficult to find now. Price on Request
