Embroidery India/Pakistan | Antique Embroidered Roomal

A beautiful square 'roomal', early 20th century, probably Syed group, Sujawal area, Sindh. This example displays quilting, interlocking 'hermitch' stitch,  'kharek' embroidery work in silk, as well as buttonhole stitch to hold the mirrors. It is decorated with little tufts of cotton. It has a wonderfully kenitic center roundel. There are some condition issues such as a patched hole (lower right) and wear around the edges, but a sweet example all and all with good age.
