Embroidery India/Pakistan | Antique Embroidered Kantha

A charming embroidered 'kantha', circa 1900, undivided Bengal, India. This wonderful little quilt was most likely used as a baby blanket. The inscription I believe to be a protective prayer for the small child. The colors are wonderful with a beautiful red, yellow, green, blue, black and aubergine, a color not seen in later pieces. The very fine quilting creates an amazing textured, ripple effect. The condition is very nice with with a very soft handle. A rare and collectable example. Price on Request
