This is a wonderful Raghes Minai-ware bowl, circa late 12th to 13th century, Kashan area, Persia. It is a type of frit-ware which is painted, then overglazed. This charming example depicts a horse and rider in the center, with lions and bird like figures with human heads along side floral motifs. The underside has been decorated with an encircling script. The bowl has been repaired. Please contact us for further details. This piece has excellent provenance from an old Cairo, Paris then Seattle collection. It measures 8" inches in diameter x 3" tall.
