Textiles of the Banjara | Semi-Antique Square Cloth

SOLD* A very nice embroidered square cloth, circa 2nd half 20th century, Banjara community, Madhya Pradesh. Central India. This is handsome example has beautiful and unusual colors and a very pleasing design. The embroidery is a quilted running stitch, made from a series of squares and rectangles. The running stitches are in yellow and red, creating interesting chevron patterns. The condition is very nice, although there are three very small splits which can be easily mended. The dimensions are 18" x 18.5". Not expensive. SOLD
