A wonderful semi-antique embroidered folding bag, circa 1940's, Banjara community, Karnataka, South India. Fine handspun cotton embroidery with saturated colors and nice a fluid design. The work is dense and precise, and the condition is excellent. A piece most likely presented as a gift from the bride to the groom as part of the dowry to display the bride's embroidery skills.
