Textiles of the Banjara | Old Banjara Embroidered Pouch

A handsome embroidered tobacco pouch, circa 1940's, Banjara community, Andhra Pradesh, South India. A charming example worked in a diamond brick stitch design. Beautiful reds and yellows were used for the field, surrounded by a soft indigo blue colored border. The colors have all mellowed with age and use. The condition is very nice considering it's been used and handled over the years. It has been washed and is now ready for more use or display. The dimensions are 6.1/4" x 5.1/4". Price on Request
