This is a somewhat rare and fairly early example of a 'pulia', or neck cover, circa 1900, Banjara community, Karnataka, South India. The use of wool, natural dyes and the overall quality of this 'pulia' makes it a very desirable and worthy addition to any serious Banjara collection. This wonderful example is certainly older than most, and displays very intricate embroidery in a number of designs and patterns covering the surface. The designs are all very traditional for this group of semi nomadic people from Karnataka. The dimensions are 13.5" x 8.5". As can seen in the images, there is one hole in the exterior border design and a few holes in the cotton ground material. Price on Request
