This is a wonderfully colorful embroidered bag, circa early 20th century, Banjara community, Madhya Pradesh, Central India. This example is stunning in its array of embroidery techniques, as well as its use of all natural dyes stuffs. the colors range from a clear soft yellow, two shades green, sky and dark blues as well as white and red. All the work is in cotton. The condition is very nice with even the top and side closure loops and tassels intact (it is missing one cowrie at the top edge). It will even more stunning after a gentle wash. The dimensions are 24"open x 16"wd. A very collectable piece in fine condition. Price on Request
