A beautiful ancient Roman green glass sprinkler rose water bottle, 2nd to 3rd century, Syria. Women would carry one of these filled with rose water to mask the smell of the streets and open sewers during the time of the Roman Empire. This particular example displays wonderfully thin handles, a very elegant form and a beautiful, iridescent patina. 4" tall by 3" across at mouth. Intact with a very minor hairline fracture.
