Roman glass perfume bottle, also called a sprinkler, 2nd to 3rd century, Syria. This example displays an excellent iridescent patina and beautiful shape. These small containers were filled with rose water and carried by women to help mask the smell of the open sewers during ancient times. The iridescent patina is created by minerals in the soil developing after centuries of being buried underground. A wonderful, intact example. 4" tall by 3" across. Price on Request
